Surprisingly comfortable and very light weight. Good quality and stylish.

It's been a long time since I've purchased new swim shorts and with a big vacation coming up I decided to pull the trigger and buy a pair of these. They're a perfect fit, comfortable to wear all day while getting in and out of the water. I washed them after the first wear and the bottom seam frayed apart. I washed them with like items and on the recommended wash instructions and was disappointed to find them damaged. I have a second pair in a different color that I haven't worn yet and hope this was a one-off situation.

Have been looking for a well made, reasonably priced pair of shorts - bought one pair to try - buying a few others today.

I bought a pair of the Volley shorts to use as a go between for the beach and around town. I wear them so much, even if I'm not planning to be near water, I just got a few more pairs.

I am in between 5'8-5'9 with 31in waist and the medium fit me perfect (dont need to tighten the waistband at all). I really like the 5.5 length as well and so far after a couple weeks of wearing these multiple times per week they are holding up great. Highly recommend!

You simply can’t go wrong with any of Bear Bottom’s shorts! Every month I buy my boyfriend new shorts, and this month it was the volley shorts, and just like the rest… he loves them! I won’t stop buying these until I have gotten each kind of short in every color! :) Thank you BearBottom for making gifts easy!

I got some volley shorts and I really like the way they fit. But if you wash them the color comes out, which is pretty trashy, to be honest. I handwashed a small spot out of the shorts and now they are totally ruined as the color completely came out of the spot I washed. Apparently rubbing the material against itself while handwashing is just too much agitation. They are headed for the garbage can. Hilariously bad quality considering the price. Would consider continuing to buy bearbottom products if this is made right. Picture attached for posterity.

These are great shorts and I love them but be very careful not to get a stain on them. I did and used a very generous amount of dish soap to pre treat before washing. It stripped the color right off them.

These are nearly perfect. Very light but durable and stretchy material. Really solid tapered fit - I have normal sized athletic legs and they fit just right (but if you have tree trunks they may be too tight). Don’t plan on taking these in the water, but they seem like they’d handle it well. Only one nitpicking complaint is that I noticed minor “fit” differences between colors (one color slightly tighter/looser than another). Unfortunately, this is something I've come across for various Bearbottom products - my only complaint for this brand. Still would 100% recommend if you want a short that can be used for most occasions and pretty perfect for the summer.

Love these rad shorts for wearing wherever, pool, gym ,beach, your girlfriends house, your friend’s girlfriends house, ect… Just Get some!!

Love the look and fit of these shorts. But the color comes off so easily. I got a small food stain on a pair and lightly rubbed in some dish detergent and a bit of baking soda. Something I do on all my clothes without a problem. Took a large chunk out of the coloring leaving a big white spot. Then another pair just developed a white streak from normal wear. I also just bought these, so all of this was after a couple wears.

These are the best casual/swim shorts I wear almost everyday. Whether I’m cruising around or laying out at the beach or going to the grocery store, these shorts do it all. Not only are they stretchy and comfy but they’re also simple enough to easily match with any top. I’ve got bigger legs for my size but these shorts don’t make my legs feel like sausages. Gotta recommend!

I love this company. Great price for very high quality stuff. I have 4 pairs of shorts from this company and I will end up with 4 more, I’m sure.

I love these shorts! Recently got my first pair and will definitely be ordering additional colors. Comfortable, light, airy- the Volley Short is perfect for my active, non-stop lifestyle. The stretch is great in the fabric and love how fast drying they are. Perfect for my Spring and Summer adventures!

The material is very thin and flimsy- it did not hold up to outdoor use. Just after getting these, I took them backpacking for 3 days and tore a hole in the cheek from simply sitting on rough rocky surfaces. I wouldn’t recommend them for outdoor activities, which is disappointing. 2 stars because I liked the fit.

These are very comfty shorts. Honestly, they would have been my favorite shorts (no exaggeration) if they did not get so worn out after their first wash. I also thought I could ride my bike for about 40 miles on them. The back of the shorts appears to have rub off of the bike saddle pretty significantly and became pretty worn out for only one ride. I thought these would last longer for the amount of money i spent on them. They are really nice shorts and I was debating giving them 3 stars, but for the price I paid, I expected them to last longer or at least the same as my nautica shorts.

Absolutely love these shorts. The perfect length and I mean perfect. Exactly how I want my shorts to fit and look. and really comfy and casual looking. Love the charcoal color. Could see myself buying some more in a different color. I can already tell you these will be my most worn shorts. Need to come out with a khaki color

I bought 3 pairs. The volley shorts are great for swimming and lounging. If you are planning on hiking or something where you will sit or rub against rock or the ground these will not hold up. These shorts are about 3 weeks old and I’ve worn them about 6 times. Today I wore them to go hike and brushed against a rock wall and the shorts immediately showed some rough abrasions and small holes.

Loved the shorts, but the first time I wore them a tiny drop of grease fell from the food I was eating onto the shorts. It left a dark spot that I couldn't dab out. Then I used a tiny amount of dish soap to break up the grease stain. The stain spread and the dye leached out leaving an even worse mark/stain. Threw them in the trash. Terrible durability. Waste of money.
